Literature Text

- Shit! - she yelled checking her watch - Where is that girl?
- Oh, Elphaba, chill out. I totally trust her - her roomate said from her bed.
- I totally trust her too, Glin, I just don't trust him - Elphie sat on her bed for a couple seconds, but then she stood up again.
- Maybe she's safe and asleep in her room already.
- She promised she'd come by whenever she got home.
Glinda rolled her eyes and tried to sleep again. Elphie restarted walking around the room.
It was 2AM and Nessa wasn't home. She had let her younger sister go out with that munchkin boy, Boq, just because she seemed to like him very much and he seemed to be a decent guy. But she told her she'd have to be home early, and early means around 11PM, not after midnight. When Elphaba thought of everything that random guy could be doing with her sister, she simply felt like dropping everything and finding a broom to fly out of the window until she finds them and gets rid of him. But Nessa would never forgive her.
Then, suddenly, somebody knocked the door. Elphie ran and opened it to find two joyful person smilling at each other. Nessa and Boq, of course. Boq kind of trembled when he say her, so he took off his hat and kissed Nessa's hand, running down the hallway without saying goodnight to the green girl watching him. Nessa came inside the room, sighing with love.
- He's just perfect - she said.
- Nessa, do you know what time is it? - Elphaba asked, ignoring her sister's previous sentence.
- What?
- The time. Do you know what time is it?
- Uh... No. Midnight, perhaps.
- No, it's 2AM. 2AM!
- What?! - Nessa took her sisters wrist and looked at her watch - 2AM?! My God, I must go to bed right know.
She turned back her wheelchair and moved it towards the door, but Elphie stood on her way.
- Where do you think you're going, I still wanna talk to you!
- Oh, come on, Fae. Classes start at 8AM, that is in 6 hours! I need some sleep.
- You should've thought of that before staying out so late!
- Look, Elphaba - said Nessa, coming threateningly closer to the other woman - you are not our mother. So you can't tell me what to do!
Elphaba froze. Nessa was never that rude. She must really like that boy to say these things.
- Besides - Nessa went on - it's not my fault if you're all... greenish and you can't get yourself a boyfriend. Just don't try to stop me from having one cause you don't know how that feels!
She left the room, then, before Elphaba could even blink. And when she did, tears fell out of her eyes.
Glinda came closer to her and tried to hold her, saying things like "She was just upset, she didn't mean it", but the woman took her friend's hands off her and ran out of the room.
The wind was cold when she found herself walking, all alone, on the gardens of Shiz University. She had her arms held around her own body, trying to feel less lone and less cold. Less hurt. Less apart. She never thought her own sister would say those things to her, she expected that from anybody else, Boq, Fiyero, even Glinda or her father. But not from Nessa. Nessa was always her only friend, the only one who understood everything she was. Well, not everything. Nessa never liked that wickedness of hers and she always told Elphie to control that freaky thing. But it was alright by her. She didn't want to be the center of atentions anyways. But to hear Nessa say she was selfish and was going to be alone forever... She hated herself even more after that.
Elphaba sat on one cold, marble bench in the middle of the flowers. At last it's working for something, she thought, bitter and ironically, here I'm hidden as a green little plant. But deep down she knew she couldn't stay there, hidden, forever, and that she wasn't really hidden. She knew she was trying to hide from herself. And that she could never do.
- Feeling the cold air? Seems colder than yesterday, don't you think?
She looked back and saw the lovely picture of Fiyero, hands in his pockets, eyes closed, coming closer. He sat next to her and crossed his arms. Then looked down at her and smiled, as if he was investigating her face.
- The moonlight makes you look like a froggy princess. And that is a compliment.
She smiled and turned her eyes to the moon. Full moon.
- Thanks - she mumbled.
They sat in silence for a couple minutes. Then he took a lock of her hair, which made her jump, scared.
- Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, I was just...
- It's f-fine - she said, sitting again. Her heart was beating faster. She could barely breathe with him being so close to her.
- I heard an argument in the hallway and it seemed to come from your room. I know it has nothing to do with Glinda, cause my ears weren't invaded by her lovely, high-pitched voice, but you... Are you ok?
Elphaba smiled to him again. It sounded too weird to hear him talk with all that irony about Glin's voice...
- Yeah, it had nothing to do with Glinda. And... I don't know.
- Wanna talk?
- I'm not sure if you'll understand, Fiyero.
- I wanna try.
They looked in each other's eyes for a few seconds and then Elphaba felt she was blushing, so she turned her head down. Fiyero turned his head to the other side too, and waited patiently for her.
- It's just that my sister and I have been having some discrepancies on that boy, Boq.
- Oh, I get it. She's blinded by love and thinks he's awesome...
- Exactly.
- ...And you see he's not that perfect.
- And as much as I try to tell her she's wrong...
- She won't listen - her eyes were intrigued when she looked at him, and he smiled - Have been there, my friend. Not with brothers or sisters, of course.
She nodded. They fell in silence again. But when Elphie's voice, timidly, broke through it, was faltering by her tears and sobs.
- S-She said I... I'm ne-ever gon have-e a boy--
- Hey - Fiyero held her - you shouldn't think this way.
- I never ex-expc-ted her to s-say someth-ing like th-is.
- I know it hurts, but you shouldn't crumble.
- Why? - she yelled to his shirt.
- Because she's wrong.
- Says who? - she asked, getting away from his arms.
- Me.
Elphaba stopped sobbing when her wet lips were touched by his.
She didn't do anything at first, she was too scared. Then he pulled her closer by her nape and she threw her arms around his neck. She had never been kissed before and didn't know exactly what to do, but she followed her intuition. And she loved it.
They sat together until the sun started rising. Both of them stood up when the pinky light started to show and he took her hands before leaving. Fiyero kissed both of Elphaba's hands and, softly, said:
- Let's keep this between the two of us. Glinda musn't know. Right now she is the one who holds my hand, but you... You are the one who holds my heart.
He kissed her forehead and walked away, leaving behind a brand new, sparkling, in love Elphaba.
My first Wicked fiction, yay!

Wrote this while trying to study Chemistry - I'm still trying ):
I really needed to write some Fiyeraba, have drawn enough, it was about time to do what I do best. Love this couple, my God.

I hate myself for making such selfish, rude Nessa, but IDK, I needed her to act like this. Sorry, Nessa!!

Not bad. A little out of character for Elphaba, but not bad. I do have one question though. Why did you use - instead of " ?
